In June 2022, while the director is working on the narration of his encounter with Patrizia Cavalli, of the time spent together and of the glances that were first attentive and then emptied by the illness, the poetess dies. Few images remain of the author as he knew her: the only possible gesture is to narrate through metaphor, with archive images and a text that, between a declaration of love and a last farewell, alternates with poems recited by the author.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Synopsis<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inspiration for my film emerged from the powerful stories of resilience and hope shared by a group of asylum seekers, who, despite their harrowing journeys, have persevered in their quest to find a place they can call home. Witnessing their determination to rebuild their lives in an unfamiliar land, I decided to create a film that not only captures their struggles but also celebrates their courage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My approach to this film combines silent, intimate shots of the refugees\u2014each gaze and expression narrating a piece of their story\u2014with a voice-over that provides additional context and insight. The stillness of the visuals allows the audience to engage deeply with the raw emotions and unspoken challenges faced by these individuals, while the voice-over serves to bridge the gap, offering a reflective and personal perspective on their journeys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By juxtaposing silent, evocative imagery with a narrative voice that articulates their stories, I aim to bring their internal and external struggles into the forefront, fostering empathy and a deeper understanding of their humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
