The Gjon Mili IVA Festival is dedicated to showcasing innovative, artistic, and thought-provoking moving-image works from around the world. We welcome submissions from a wide range of cinematic and audiovisual practices, including Visual Narrative, Experimental Short Film, Experimental Short Documentary, Video Art, Animation, and Hybrid Film Forms that challenge traditional boundaries between genres and artistic disciplines.
By submitting a film or audiovisual work to the festival, the applicant acknowledges and agrees to the following rules and conditions:
Eligibility
- All submissions must be completed works at the time of entry. Works-in-progress are not eligible unless specifically requested by the festival.
Rights and Ownership
- The submitter must be the legal copyright holder of the work or have obtained all necessary permissions, licenses, and clearances required for public screening.
- The submitter accepts full responsibility for any copyright, intellectual property, music licensing, image rights, or other legal issues related to the submitted work.
- The festival assumes no responsibility for claims arising from unauthorized use of copyrighted materials included in a submission.
Promotional Use
- By submitting a work, the filmmaker grants the festival the non-exclusive right to use excerpts, still images, trailers, teasers, posters, press kits, and other promotional materials related to the film for festival publicity and marketing purposes.
- Such materials may be used in print publications, festival catalogs, websites, social media platforms, press releases, promotional videos, and other communication channels intended to promote the festival and its program.
- The festival will not distribute or commercially exploit the complete film without the explicit written consent of the rights holder.
Language Requirements
- Films that are not primarily in English must include accurate English subtitles embedded in the screening copy or provided in a compatible subtitle format.
- Submissions without English subtitles may be deemed ineligible for selection.
Selection and Screening
- The festival selection committee reserves the right to determine the eligibility and suitability of all submitted works.
- Decisions of the selection committee are final and cannot be appealed.
- Selected films may be screened during festival events, special presentations, educational programs, or related non-commercial festival activities.
General Conditions
- Submission of a film constitutes acceptance of all festival rules and terms.
- The festival reserves the right to amend these regulations when necessary, provided that any changes are communicated appropriately.
- Any matter not expressly covered by these rules shall be resolved at the sole discretion of the festival organizers.
By completing the submission process, participants confirm that they have read, understood, and accepted these Rules and Terms in their entirety.
