For the fourth edition of the Gjon Mili International Video Art Festival, we return to a city where light carries memory — where it is not only a visual phenomenon, but a trace of history, culture, and origin.

Are You Dreaming?
This edition in Korçë — the birthplace of Gjon Mili — invites us to enter a space where reality and imagination gently overlap. Inspired by the festival’s 2026 theme, Are You Dreaming?, we explore the delicate boundaries between memory and perception, light and shadow, the familiar and the unexpected.
Korçë possesses a unique atmosphere that often feels dreamlike. Light drifts across cobblestone streets, neoclassical facades, quiet courtyards, and old windows, transforming everyday scenes into moments of reflection. Time seems to move differently here. History is not confined to the past; it lingers in public squares, in architecture, and in the rhythms of daily life. In this setting, projection becomes more than an image—it becomes an encounter between the visible world and the landscapes of the imagination.
The city’s rich cultural heritage—its music, literature, and long tradition of learning—creates an inspiring environment for contemporary video art. Here, artists are invited to question what is real and what is remembered, what is seen and what is felt. Moving images unfold like fragments of dreams, connecting personal stories with collective memory.
We invite artists to experience Korçë not only as a place, but as a state of mind. To ask how light shapes emotion, how memory transforms space, and how video art can reveal the hidden narratives that exist between waking life and dreams. Through projection, reflection, and experimentation, the city becomes a canvas where imagination can wander freely.
In Korçë, beginnings are never fixed. They shift, reappear, and transform—much like dreams themselves. And from those dreams, new visions emerge.
