Selection Begins for the Gjon Mili International Video Art Festival

The fourth edition of the Gjon Mili International Video Art Festival has officially entered the artist selection phase, under the theme “Are you dreaming?”. As in previous years, the festival will take place across three cities: in Korçë from June 13–15, in Dhërmi from June 18–20, and in New York from June 27–29, 2026.

Following a high number of submissions from artists around the world, the jury has begun reviewing the projects that will be included in this year’s program. Organizers note that competition is particularly strong, as only 40 works will be selected for the final screening nights. Each project is being carefully evaluated, taking into account its concept, execution, and the way it engages with the audience through installation.

The festival has also started introducing some of its participants. “Dezo Hoffmann: Photographer of The Beatles” is a documentary directed by Laura Sivakova-Passova and Patrik Lancaric. The film tells the story of photographer Dezo Hoffmann, known for his portraits of iconic 20th-century figures such as Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, and The Rolling Stones.

Romanian artist Cătălina Gubandru will take part with her work “Expo Arbre Bușteni_Pine Forest”, a project that explores nature through a sensitive and reflective visual language.

In addition, the festival will feature invited artists, who will present their works within the “Invited Artist” category.

The selected artists and the full program—now a well-established tradition of the festival—will soon be announced on the festival’s official website and social media platforms. The Gjon Mili Video Art Festival continues to stand as not only an experimental platform, but also a space for artistic reflection and experience.
