Day Two of the Gjon Mili International Video Art Festival in Korçë

The daytime program took place at GAD Gallery, where visitors had the opportunity to watch short films, documentaries, video art works, and virtual reality projects by artists from South Korea, the Netherlands, Canada, China, Australia, Brazil, the United States, Germany, Slovenia, Monaco, Montenegro, and other countries.

The day also featured the presentation “Minus Art and Artists” by Matilda Odobashi, as well as an artist talk and presentation by Ledia Kostandini on her project “Nën qyteti” (The Underground City).

An important part of the program was the continuation of discussions with artists following the screenings of Easter by Ksenia Yurkova and Kingdom of Animals by Thadeusz Tischbein, which were presented on the festival’s opening day.

In Easter, Ksenia Yurkova reflects on contemporary Russia through a personal and family perspective, combining archival material with newly created images. The film explores themes of memory, propaganda, identity, and the impact of war and ideology on individuals and families.

In Kingdom of Animals, Thadeusz Tischbein explores Germany’s landscapes and national symbols, bringing together history, myths, legends, and animals in a reflection on national identity.

Festival organizers emphasized that the event is not only about screening films, but also about creating opportunities for artists and audiences to meet, exchange ideas, and discuss different ways of understanding the world through moving images.

The program continued in the afternoon at the Gjon Mili Museum with screenings of international works. In the evening, a special screening was held at the Andon Zako Çajupi Theatre, featuring films from Italy, Albania, and France. The evening also included a performance by classical guitarist Nicola Montella, followed by a cocktail reception.

The second day of the festival concluded with a Post Festival Party at Komiteti Coffee Museum.
