The work A Line Between Us stems from the artist’s personal experience of loss, symbolically emphasizing the need for connection with the absent and the act of remembering. The artist performs a walk through inaccessible, rocky terrain, leaving behind a turquoise fabric as a line/river in the landscape – a trace of her passage and a symbol of invisible bonds.
At the end of the performance, the artist plants a willow on the lakeshore, in dry and stony soil, and wraps around it the fabric that was part of the performance. This gesture leaves a lasting trace – both visual and symbolic – that unites body, space, and time, while marking memory, renewal, and resilience. Captured by drone, the line and the willow become visible from a bird’s-eye view, highlighting the relationship between intimate experience and universal meaning.
