Seven monitors simultaneously project the Lumière brothers’ films in their villa-museum in Lyon. The camera moves through them with a feverish gesture, pushing in until complete loss of focus. Entering inside the house, inside the images, inside the screens, inside the light: a physical confrontation with the very origin of cinema.
Mattia Biondi is an italian independent filmmaker who works “at the end” of the images. His research is based on the use of minimal and essential technical instruments and it is oriented towards the development of creative processes concerning the fusion of archival material and autobiographical elements.
