About the Residency

The Gjon Mili Residency Program is an international residency dedicated to video art, short film, documentary, and experimental practices including VR, immersive art, moving image, expanded cinema, and new media, developed as part of the Gjon Mili International Video Art Festival.

Inspired by the artistic legacy of Gjon Mili and his pioneering exploration of light and movement, the residency invites artists working with contemporary visual languages to develop projects in dialogue with landscape, memory, architecture, and projection-based media.

The residency takes place in Dhërmi on the Albanian Riviera during May 2027, from May 1 to May 30.

Special Invited Artists

Selected artists will be presented as Special Invited Artists of the festival through a dedicated exhibition or screening program featuring both works developed during the residency and previous artistic works and research.
